In person & online
Practical answers before you speak with our team.
Is this program for me?
The program is designed for adults seeking medical support with weight and its effect on health. A TejoMed doctor assesses whether it is appropriate for you individually.
Care combines visits in our Lisbon clinic with video consultations. Your doctor explains which assessments need to happen in person. The first call is a chance to understand the service and ask questions; it is not a medical assessment.
What does the fee cover, and what costs extra?
The program is paid upfront for six months of care, with TejoMed membership included. Lab tests and any prescribed medicines are charged separately.
On your first call, we explain the full program price, any evaluation charge and estimated additional costs. You receive the payment and cancellation terms before paying, including the cost of any membership continuation. The call itself does not commit you to joining.
Does insurance cover it?
The program fee is paid directly and is not covered by insurance. Lab tests and prescribed medicines are separate; reimbursement depends on your policy. Check the relevant cover with your insurer before proceeding.
Does the program include prescription treatment?
Your doctor may consider prescription treatment when it is clinically indicated for you individually, based on your health history and safety profile after your assessment. Not everyone has an indication, and many patients' plans don't include it. Any prescription is filled at a pharmacy of your choice and is never included in the program fee.
How quickly can I get started?
After you book, the call usually happens within a few days. Then come your intake forms, a 30-minute video onboarding with your nurse, a doctor's review of your file within two business days, and your labs and baseline measurements, in our clinic or with labs drawn near you. Lab results take around two to three weeks to come back, so your first doctor consult, 60 to 90 minutes with everything on screen, is booked for the moment they're in. Most people sit down with their doctor three to five weeks after enrolling.
What if the doctor decides the program isn't right for me?
Your doctor reviews whether the program is appropriate for you. If it is not, the team will explain the next steps and any refund or credit under your enrolment terms. We explain those terms before payment, including how the program fee and any evaluation charge are treated.
How much weight will I lose, and how fast?
That's a conversation for your doctor, based on your assessment. What we can tell you is how we track it: body composition, strength, and measurements every month, with labs at the start and at month five, so you and your doctor see what's changing, not just the scale.
I'm already a TejoMed member. What changes?
Tell us you are already a TejoMed member when you get in touch. Your doctor relationship and membership access continue; our team will explain the program’s fees and how they work alongside your existing membership before you decide.
A six-month, doctor-led program combining personalized medical care, nutrition guidance, body composition monitoring, and regular follow-up. Prescription treatment may be considered by your doctor when clinically appropriate.
Treatment plans are individual. Prescription treatment is considered by your doctor only when clinically appropriate, and any prescription is dispensed by pharmacies. Individual results vary.
This program always begins with a prior medical assessment. Booking a call is not a consultation, a diagnosis, or a medical opinion. Enrolment is confirmed only after evaluation by a TejoMed doctor.
